Dr. Sunjay Gandhi

Dr. Sunjay Gandhi was born and raised in the Whitby area. After completing public school and high school in Whitby, he continued his education at the University of Toronto where he graduated with an honours degree in Biological Science. Dr. Gandhi then went on to dental school and completed his training at the University of Western Ontario in London, class of 2000. To further his clinical training, Dr. Gandhi spent some time working in the operating rooms at Mount Sinai Hospital; one of the top hospital dental clinics in Ontario.

Perhaps more important than his clinical skills is his sincerity and compassion in dealing with patients. In fact, Dr. Gandhi has patients that he treated in London that were willing to follow him to Toronto. With many years of experience working with the Durham community, Dr. Gandhi is proud to advertise his new office. Together with his team, he performs all aspects of general dentistry. His primary focus is educating his patients so that they understand exactly what treatment is being recommended for them and why. Dr. Gandhi is very easy-going and would like to encourage those with questions or concerns not to hesitate to drop into the office to discuss them. No question is too simple and no problem is too difficult.

Born in Kingston, Ontario and raised in Bloomfield, Catharine ventured away from home to attend Durham College for the Business Administration – Operations Management Course for three years. Upon graduation, she accepted a position with Bombardier-deHavilland Aerospace as a Work and Material Planner for four years. After much thought, Catharine decided to pursue a different career. She went back to Toronto School of Business – Oshawa Campus for Dental Assisting. After one year, Catharine graduated with honours and began assisting in Whitby. It as at this first assisting job that she had the pleasure of meeting Dr. Gandhi. Both relatively new to the field, they gained much knowledge and experience working together. In order to continue working with Dr. Gandhi, Catharine applied and was offered a Head Assistant position at the office in Markham where Dr. Gandhi also worked. Over the next 3 years, she gained many valuable assets as well as obtaining her Level II Assisting diploma from Durham College.

Over the past several years, Catharine has worked in Whitby, then Markham, and is happy to be back in Whitby, all the while working with Dr. Gandhi. Dr. Gandhi is not only her employer, but they are also wonderful friends. This friendly atmosphere is what Catharine helps to promote in the office. Her experience, personality, and professionalism all help to make patients feel very comfortable in the dental office. In order to further her career and reach her eventual goal of Treatment Coordinator, Catharine will be assuming the responsibilities of Office Administrator. As a Treatment Coordinator, Catharine’s primary responsibility will be to explain different treatment options to patients and to educate patients about their dental health. Catharine’s experience as an assistant has gained her an excellent understanding of dentistry, and combined with her communication skills, makes her an obvious choice for Treatment Coordinator.

Jenna was born and raised in Oshawa, Ontario. After enjoying a high school co-op position in a dental office, Jenna decided to pursue a career in the dental field.

Jenna attended the Level II dental assisting program at George Brown College and graduated with honours. Following her field placement at the Toronto Rehab Dental Clinic, Jenna decided to further expand her dental education. Jenna completed the challenging two year dental hygiene program at Durham College and graduated again with honours.

Jenna accepted her first job working as a dental hygienist in Toronto. After gaining experience and confidence, Jenna relocated to the Oshawa/Whitby area in hopes of finding work closer to home.

Jenna is now thrilled to be working as a part of Dr. Gandhi’s team at Meadowglen Dental. Jenna has been a part of the team for some time now and has received great praise and acceptance from all of the patients she’s had the pleasure of treating. Her soft nature and calming personality has made her a valuable asset to the Meadowglen team. Jenna is a compassionate and patient clinician who thrives to deliver dental hygiene services with a gentle touch.

Sarah was born in Guelph, Ontario and raised in Oshawa. After graduating high school with honours, Sarah attended Durham College for Medical Administration. Upon completion, Sarah accepted a position with Dr. N Stein & Associates as a Medical Secretary. While working with Dr. Stein for 4 years, Sarah continued her studies at Durham College and completed the Dental Reception and Administration course with hopes of pursuing a career in the dental field.

In order to further her education in the dental field, Sarah completed the Dental Assisting Level I & II course at Trillium College, graduating at the top of her class. For her Co-op placement, Sarah had the pleasure of working with Dr. Gandhi and the Meadowglen Dental team. Over her 80 hours of placement, Sarah honed her Dental Assisting skills and impressed the team so much, that Sarah was offered a permanent position upon graduation.

Sarah is now very happy to be a part of the team at Meadowglen Dental. She looks forward to the opportunity to work in a progressive dental office, and to provide excellent care to all her clients working along side the Meadowglen Dental team.

Jennifer Traviss-Sheehan was raised in Durham Region; she attended college to become a Dental Assistant before later returning to study Denturism. She enjoyed a fulfilling career working as a Dental Assistant for five years, and decided to further her education by attending George Brown College to become a Denturist. She is excited to join the skilled team at Meadowglen Dental Care, where she is looking forward to providing a full scope of denture related services. Such services may include fabrication of full and partial dentures, immediate dentures, relines and repairs. Jennifer takes great pride in her work and is eager to work with her clients to deliver dentures that will meet both their esthetic and functional demands.
